Tata Sons today said it planned to start a private equity fund but refused to divulge the fund-size and timeline.
"The private equity fund will invest in all sectors other than real estate," Tata Sons' Finance Director, Ishaat Hussain, told reporters on the sidelines of the AVCJ Private Equity and Venture Forum being held here.
The private equity fund would come under group company Tata Capital.
"We cannot give any date (for the launch) as of now," he said. The team is, however, in place, Hussain added.
Tata Sons already has a real estate fund. It has collected $750 million.
"We have begun investing in real estate projects," Hussain said.
