Telecom scrips hit the roof

The Bharti Tele-Ventures scrip gained as much as 9.44 per cent yesterday to close at Rs 107.20, but off its lifetime high of Rs 109.30 in mid-trading session. Bharti is the only listed cellular telecom company.

Among other telecom stocks, Tata Televentures edged up 9.72 per cent to close at Rs 21.45, off the day's high of Rs 21.50.

State-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd edged up 2.87 per cent to Rs 127.10.
