Over 59.44 lakh tonne of wheat has so far arrived in the various mandis of Haryana, out of which more than 59.41 lakh tonne had been purchased by the six government procuring agencies and 2,631 tonne by traders.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Food and Supplies Department said over 20.61 lakh tonne of wheat has been purchased by HAFED, over 15.56 lakh tonne by Food and Supplies Department.
Over 7.66 lakh tonne of wheat has been purchased by Food Corporation of India, over 5.87 lakh tonne by Agro Industries Corporation, over 5.42 lakh tonne by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and over 4.27 lakh tonne by CONFED, he said.
The spokesman said district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival, where over 8.01 lakh tonne of wheat had so far arrived in the mandis, followed by district Fatehabad where over 5.92 lakh tonne of wheat had arrived in the mandis.
