Amid profit-booking by speculators and weak trend overseas, zinc futures prices today traded 0.19% lower at Rs 105.40 per kg.

At the MCX, zinc for delivery in May shed 20 paise, or 0.19%, to Rs 105.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 71 lots.

The April contract lost 15 paise, or 0.14%, to Rs 104.70 per kg, with a business volume of 85 lots.

At the London Metal Exchange (LME), zinc traded a shade lower at $2,004 per tonne.

Analysts attributed the fall in zinc futures to a weak trend in base metals at the LME and profit-booking by speculators.
