At least 100 countries have confirmed their participation in the EXPO 2017 that will be held in Kazakhstan next year.
Confirming this, EXPO 2017 Commissioner Rapil Zhoshybayev, said that preparations for holding the exhibition and attracting international participants are continuing at a good pace, and added that by the end of the year, a clearer picture would emerge.
Commissioner Zhoshybayev said that currently activities are being conducted to appoint commissioners of national sections and on the signing of participation agreements.
He said that the Government of Kazakhstan is actively involved in attracting international participants for the landmark event, and is negotiating with leaders in the sphere of renewable and alternative energy and extending invites to developing states to take part in the exhibition and use this platform to share their experiences and their advanced technologies.
He said China, Switzerland, France, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Finland, Saudi Arabia, India, The Vatican and Germany etc. are some of the nations that have confirmed their participation in EXPO 2017.
He said that the success of the EXPO would always be connected with the number of participating states and the technologies presented.
Zhoshybayev said that the Central African Republic (CAR) has become the 100th state to confirm participation. The CAR is a member of the Group of Twenty (G20) and one of the most developed countries of the African continent. Having started developing RES in 2010, the CAR now provides over 1000 MW of solar energy for the state.
Kazakhstan is entering the final preparatory stages of EXPO 2017, and by October, all pavilions will be transferred to participating states.
