At least 17 people were killed in a U.S. drone strike launched in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan in the wee hours of Wednesday, reported local media Geo.
According to the local media reports, the strike took place at about 1: 00 a.m. (local time) when U.S. drones fired four missiles at a house and a vehicle in the Danda Derpa Khel area of Miranshah, a main town in North Waziristan which borders Afghanistan.
Two missiles hit the house while the other two hit the vehicle, said the reports.
Identities of the killed are not immediately available.
Wednesday morning's U.S. drone strike is the 15th of its kind in Pakistan in 2013. Since this year, at least 87 people, most of them believed to be militants, have reportedly been killed in such strikes in the country.
