A 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district on Thursday, though no loss of lives or property have been reported so far.
Besides Kullu, low-intensity tremors were also felt in adjoining Mandi and Shimla districts.
The epicentre of the quake was in the Kullu region.
Manmohan Singh of the Meteorological department said, "A tremor of 3.3 magnitude on the Richter scale, with a depth of 10 Kms, has been recorded in Kullu District."
"Although it is a low magnitude earthquake, the impact was felt in Kullu and neighbouring districts like Mandi and Shimla due to its low depth. There is no report of any damage so far," he added.
The hill areas in Himachal and neighbouring states are highly prone to earthquakes.
