7-years-old girls being 'sexualized' at pamper parties

Child protection campaigners have criticized a company that offers beauty treatments to girls as young as 7-years-old, for sexualizing them and making them into "little painted dolls".

The firm, called Little Beauties, is a birthday party service that gives manicures to primary school children and teaches them how to put on make-up, the Daily Star reported.

Claude Knights, chief executive of child protection charity Kidscape, said that the pamper parties become a continuation of the sexualisation of young girls.

However, beautician Kelly from Gloucester claimed that all she wants to do is teach children how to look after their skin and apply cosmetic products correctly.
