More than six months after a fire destroyed a Bangladesh clothing factory, 94 percent of the victims are still awaiting compensation, a charity organization has said.
Action Aid found in its recent survey that 63 percent of the survivors suffered serious physical injuries, including amputations, paralysis and severe pain, which prevented them from returning to work, the BBC reports.
More than 1,130 people died in April, when the Rana Plaza building collapsed in Dhaka.
According to the report, maximum of those surveyed said they had received no legal benefits from their employers, including sick pay or compensation.
Primark is the only company till now, which has provided financial support of about 191 dollars each to 3,300 Bangladeshi victims, the report added.
The Bangladeshi government and the International Labour Organization (ILO) launched another initiative to improve the safety of buildings and prevent fires in the clothing industry on Tuesday.
