Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday took a dig at the ugly happenings within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), saying the latter was becoming more like the older political parties.

"To think that commentators were actually advising older political parties to be more like #AAP seems #AAP has decided to be more like us," Omar said on twitter.

Earlier in the day, the AAP removed Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from the national executive, amidst allegations of a scuffle and manhandling at the national council meet.

The AAP national council also removed Ajith Jha and Professor Anand Kumar from the national executive.

Expressing his disappointment at the happenings, Yogendra Yadav said it was a death of democracy in the national council meet and alleged that everything that happened in the meet was according to a pre-planned script.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party hit back and said that the duo should not create a 'drama' and accept the verdict of the party's highest decision making body.

"YY/PB should not create drama or farce outside NC. They have been expelled because they wanted party to loose and wanted party to break," tweeted party spokesperson Ashutosh.

Earlier on Friday, Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav had hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of stifling internal democracy and adopting unfair means to capture power.

The tussle got murkier later yesterday after a secretly-taped phone conversation was leaked in which the AAP chief is heard abusing the dissident leaders and threatening to exit the party with 67 Delhi MLAs.
