Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani on Tuesday met jailed party leader Yashwant Sinha, and asked him to continue his movement against power cuts in Hazaribagh after getting released from the jail.
"I have given him my advice. I must say that he has initiated a very good movement regarding the electricity problem here. But I have advised him that he should get out of jail and should continue his movement in a more respected manner," said Advani.
Advani also alleged that some section of the media is trying to show that Sinha is adamant on staying in the jail, which is not true.
The former finance minister was arrested on June 2 after he led a BJP demonstration at the state Electricity Board office in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.
He had refused to furnish a bail bond which led to him being jailed.
On Monday, a local court extended judicial remand of Yashwant Sinha and his supporters till June 28.
Chief Judicial Magistrate R.B. Pal ordered his remand to be extended.
