Security forces who have been fighting Taliban militants in the Babaji area in southern Helmand province said that they are unable to win the battle against Taliban due to a lack of military equipment.
A soldier told the Tolo News that Taliban has re-captured several areas from the forces, due to a lack of military equipment and support.
The militants have killed family members of many police officers in the area.
A public order police commander said that the extremist organisation has also destroyed many bridges and burned down school for cooperating with government.
The provincial council Karim Atal has been demanding for urgent reinforcement troops for the battle as the Taliban has moved closer to Lashkargah city.
The government should pay serious attention to this clash and provide air support to the troops, he added.
