At least 23 Taliban militants were killed and 11 others injured in an Afghanistan military operation in northern Kunduz province.
According to Tolo News, the operation named "Tofan-e-Daham" (Tenth Storm) was launched in Khan Abad District of Kunduz Province to clear insurgency from the region.
Five insurgents were also arrested during the operations.
Ghulaam Hazrat Karimi, a spokesperson of the Afghan military, said that the operation is still going on in Aqtash area of Khan Abad to clear all insurgents.
No security forces causalities has been reported yet.
The commencement of the operation has come just days after Aghanistan President visited the city of Kunduz and had promised to clear out militants from the northeastern parts of the country.
