Former South Africa pace spearhead Allan Donald is likely to join the Australian squad as a bowling coach for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka and South Africa.
If chosen, Donald would fill the post left by former bowling coach Craig McDermott, who stepped down following the conclusion of the World Twenty20,cricket.com.au reported.
Earlier this month, Western Australia bowling coach Adam Griffith was roped in for the forthcoming tri-series in West Indies, which will also feature South Africa.
Meanwhile, former Australia pacer Jason Gillespie is also believed to be among the frontrunners for the full-time bowling coach role in the national side.
Donald's coaching role dates back to 2007, when he served as the temporary bowling coach for England. He had bagged 330 Test wickets for Australia in his illustrious career.
Australia will play three Tests, five ODIs and two T20Is between July and September against Sri Lanka followed by an ODI series in South Africa in September.
