Online retailer Amazon.com has reportedly bagged the top spot beating other popular brands like Apple, Coca Cola and Walt Disney to take the coveted title of the best reputed company for the second consecutive year in America.

According to 24/7 Wall Street, many of the nation's most reputable companies are major players in the technology sector. Microsoft, Sony, Samsung and Apple make the computers, smartphones and TVs that many Americans enjoy in their spare time.

These companies also happen to be the market leaders for these popular technology products.

For instance, Samsung and Apple stand at number one and number two when it comes to best sellers of smartphones globally, while Microsoft and Sony make the two most popular video game consoles.

Robert Fronk, Senior Vice President at Nielsen says that what distinguishes the nation's most reputable companies is that they are able to transcend their industry.
