England pace spearhead James Anderson, who underwent a scan on his tight right calf muscle, is in doubt to be fully fit for the first Test of the four-match series against South Africa in Durban, starting on Boxing Day.

The 33-year-old right-hander bowled only for five overs before being rested during his side's first warm-up match, which England won by an innings and 91 runs against South Africa A, the Guardian reported.

England's all-time leading Test wicket-taker, who had been suffering from irritation in his arm since the start of the South Africa's tour, currently owns 426 scalps in 110 matches.
