At least two people were killed and 30 other wounded after assailants stormed the New Kabul Bank branch in Paktia, Afghanistan.
According to Paktia Police Chief Toryalai Abdiani, the attack started at about 2.30 p.m. local time when a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the entrance to the bank, allowing additional attackers to storm the building, reports the Tolo News.
Local officials said a second suicide bomber also detonated his explosives inside the bank.
The attack lasted at least two hours and ended with all attackers being reportedly ends killed.
This is the second coordinated attack launched by the militants in less than a week.
A group of insurgents entered the State Radio Television compound in Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province on Wednesday, leaving at least six people dead and more than 20 others wounded.
The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group offshoot in Afghanistan, ISIS Khurasan, claimed responsibility of the attack.
