Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have expressed deep concern over the growing phenomenon of terrorism, and stressed the importance of combatting it, including the Islamic State in Iran and Syria.
Both countries, according to the Daily Star, also agreed to cooperate with each other in various fields and expand the scope of partnership in the fields of trade, business and investment in infrastructure.
The two sides also agreed to move forward towards the promotion of cooperative projects between the two countries in the sectors of higher education, culture and tourism and cooperation in the field of energy, including renewable energy, climate change and blue economy, and security issues, said a joint statement issued by the Bangladesh foreign ministry.
These agreements were signed after discussions between Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE vice-president and ruler of Dubai at Zabeel Palace.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the UAE from October 25 to 27 at the invitation of Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
During the visit, bilateral, regional and global issues of mutual interest to the two countries was discussed.
