Beyonce's account that was verified by Vine has been identified as fake, it has been reported.
The account, which had racked up only around 40,000 views of the single video posted to it was suspended after the doubts relating to its authenticity started to surface, The Verge reported.
But that was only after employees of Twitter and Vine, including Vine's head of product, tweeted links welcoming Beyonce to the video-sharing network. They later deleted their tweets.
There's a loophole, which requires fixing, in Vine's verification process that might have made it easy for a fake person to impersonate the American singer and get the green badge.
