Bhagwat's reservation comment: EC has wisdom to view the matter, says RJD

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha on Tuesday said the election commission has enough wisdom to decide on what it should do with regard to the reservation-related views of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

"I think election commission has enough wisdom to look at it in totality. For us, it is not an election issue, for us, it is an issue which will reach its logical culmination, and three fourths of the population of this country shall determine what that development is," Jha told ANI.

"I think there are two options, we keep silent and allow people from the subaltern community, from the backward classes, from the Dalit communities to feel low and rejected, or, to stand by them. We have simply decided to stand by them because we believe that this is one election which is between conscious deprivation and insensitive prosperity, which is dominant in the BJP," he added.

The RSS chief had recently called for a review of the national reservation policy because he felt it was being used by parties for their political ends.

He also reportedly suggested the setting up of a committee to examine the existing reservation policy.
