Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti on Monday asserted that it was Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's statement on reservation that made the Mahagathbandhan's campaign easier in Bihar.
"We had come forward with many issues. The Bharatiya Janata Party also provided us many issues, be it Mohan Bhagwat talking about reservation. We have always been in favour of reservation. We kept our views among the people," Bharti told ANI here.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Bihar, Bharti said that the grand alliance would work on their promised agenda of development.
Meanwhile, Lalu's younger son Tejaswi Yadav criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thanked the people of Bihar for helping him and his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav emerge victorious in the election.
"We got a huge mandate and we want to make a modern and developed Bihar. Prime Minister Modi used to say that Lalu ji is involved in settling his children. Many kids of the members of the NDA lost the election, and only we two have won the same. So, it is clear that the people of Bihar settled us," he said.
Tejaswi, who won from the Raghopur assembly constituency, said the people of Bihar have voted for 'gareebon ka raj' while countering Prime Minister Modi's repeated taunts of 'jungle raj-2'.
"The people of Bihar have said that the 15 years was not jungle raj but the rule of the poor. Today again the government has been formed for them. It's a bad luck for you (BJP-led NDA). You tried a lot and made personal attacks as well but you will have to pay heavily for it now," he added.
The grand alliance bagged 178 seats, while the BJP-led NDA won 58 seats.
