Holding the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responsible for the unhygienic conditions in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Thursday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP has turned the national capital into a heap of garbage.

"PM Modi's BJP has turned Delhi into heap of garbage, this is their cleanliness," he said.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Manish Sisodia blamed the MCD for the same. "If today Delhi is full of dirt and garbage, it is because the MCD isn't doing its work," Sisodia said.

The Delhi High Court has stayed all the three municipal corporations' demand notice to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) seeking payment of property tax of around Rs 530 crore on lands that had been entrusted for the purpose of development.

A notice has been given to the municipal corporations seeking their responses within a month. It also asked DDA to deposit with the Registrar General a bank guarantee of Rs 50 crore by December 1.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has been asked to hold a meeting of senior DDA officials and the municipal bodies to resolve the issue.
