Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh on Monday said that he is confident that his party will give the people the change that they are hoping for at the Centre, and added that his party's performance will help them to secure the majority votes in the 2014 general elections.
"I believe right now the people of this country want change and the Bharatiya Janata Party will bring in that change in government. The people have not only seen the performance of the BJP-led NDA government, but have also been witness to the performance of BJP-ruled states in the country," Singh said.
"The people have naturally realised that if there is a regime that can give them good governance, it is the Bharatiya Janata Party," he added.
Earlier today, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh had endorsed the prospect of a third-front in the lead-up to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
"The third front's candidate will be the next Prime Minister of the country," Mr Yadav said today, speaking to the media in New Delhi.
Yadav also disclosed that he was working with Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Prakash Karat to put together a third front, but said it was not possible before the elections in May, 2014.
The BJP had announced Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as their Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 General Elections last month.
