A British Museum curator has decoded Noah's Ark puzzles in his new book.

Irving Finkel has revealed that the ark was round and had no bow and stern or house in the middle, but had reeds woven in like a giant basket that wa sealed with bitumen for waterproofing, the New York Post reported.

The book titled 'The Ark Before Noah' has revealed that the flood wasn't that big in the biblical sense, but as Mesopotamia was a land between the Tigres and Euphrates rivers, people dependent upon those rivers were ravaged by flooding.

Finkel has also revealed that a 3,700-year-old clay tablet with cuneiform script gives detailed instructions on how to build an ark that was two-thirds the size of a football pitch.

He insisted that a storyteller was trying to add convincing detail for an audience who would know about boats and boat building.
