Six Egyptian police officers have been injured after a car bomb explosion hit a state security building in northern Cairo, said Egyptian Ministry of Interior.
According to the BBC, there are no reports of any deaths in the explosion that took place in the northern Shubra district of the Egyptian capital.
Residents across Cairo said that they heard and felt a large blast before 02:00 local time.
According to a ministry statement, a man stopped his car in front of the state security building before he jumped out of it and fled on a motorbike that followed the car.
The car exploded injuring six police officials.
