The palates of some visitors at UK's first National Burger Day in Dalston Yard, east London, were in for a surprise when they indulged in burger-flavoured ice cream.
The ice cream came with toppings of candied bacon and dill gherkin ripple, Metro.co.uk reported.
Suzanna Austin, from ice cream seller Sorbitium, made the dairy item more tempting by offering customers another topping of tomato ketchup.
Event organiser, Jonathan Pile, said that by naming August 27 as National Burger Day and kicking off with the legendary burger ice cream, they were celebrating the ingenuity and versatility of the British burger.
