Former US president Jimmy Carter has reportedly revealed that he preferred communicating via mail with foreign leaders to evade NSA snooping.

Carter said that he was afraid that his electronic correspondences were being spied on by the NSA.

The former president said that he felt that his own communications were probably monitored, adding that whenever he wanted to communicate with a foreign leader privately, he typed or wrote the letter himself, put it in the post office and mailed it, Politics reported.

Carter said that he believed that if he sent an email, it will be monitored.
