Cate Blanchett has finally explained why she told Julia Roberts to 'hashtag suck it' during 2014 Oscars acceptance speech, saying that she actually pointed to year 2013 on how terrible it was.

Speaking on Jimmy KimmelLive!, the Australian actress asserted that if either of them had the good fortune to be up there, they had to kiss it on the ass a goodbye, News.com.au reported.

The 45-year-old actress admitted that she didn't even know what a "hashtag" was until Roberts explained it to her.

Blanchett grabbed the Best Performance Oscar by an actress in a leading role award for' Blue Jasmine' in 2014.
