The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday registered a case against former Orissa High Court judge IM Quddusi and a private person in connection with the leakage of sensitive information relating to inspections, administrative decisions or action contemplated by the Medical Council of India (MCI) against some medical colleges.
The CBI has filed the FIR under Section-8 of Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120-B (Under criminal conspiracy taking gratification by corrupt or illegal means to influence a public servant.)
Meanwhile, the CBI conducted search operations at eight places (in Delhi Orissa and Lucknow), including Quddusi's residence in Delhi's Greater Kailash.
The CBI also recovered Rs one crore from the private person during raid and increment documents from the retired judge.
Speaking to ANI, the CBI Spokesperson said, "Rumors of raids at premises of a sitting Orissa High Court judge are baseless.
