Christian Bale is heading out west again in period drama 'Hostiles'.
The first trailer of the much awaited movie has finally been unveiled and it looks like another winner for Bale.
The trailer starts with a distraught Rosamund Pike asking Bale's character if he believes in God. The actor responds by saying, "I believe in God, but he's been blind to what's going on."
After several violent scenes, the trailer concludes with Bale's voiceover saying, "Understand this, when we lay our heads down, we are all prisoners."
The trailer is dark and gritty, which propels you to be hooked to the trailer. The background score just intensifies of what is shown in the footage.
The film, set in 1892, stars Bale as a captain who agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief (Wes Studi) and his family back home to tribal lands. The journey takes Bale and his detail from New Mexico to the grasslands of Montana.
Along the way they pick up a young widow (Pike), whose family has been murdered on the plains by hostile Comanche natives.
The movie had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival over the weekend, where it received positive reviews from movie critics after debuting as part of a special tribute to Bale.
Helmed by Scott Cooper, the movie also stars Wes Studi, Jesse Plemons, Ben Foster, Rory Cochrane, and Q'orianka Kilcher.
