The Congress in Tripura alleged massive rigging by ruling Left Front in several polling centers in both the seats and demanded re-polls in the state.

Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman alleged that a section of presiding officers stopped the Congress polling agents to enter the polling hall to help the ruling party cadres do rigging.

"In Pratabgarh we have demanded repoll in nine polling booths and in Surma we have demanded polling in five polling booths. This is because these people have adopted unfair means; the presiding officers were in hand-in-gloves with the polling agents and hooligans of the CPI (M) party wherein they have made a laughing stock in the name of election," he said.

"The election has been rigged completely in those 14 polling booths. We demand immediate repoll in all the 14 booths," he added.

Barman along with other senior Congress leaders, including PCC state president Birajit Sinha and MLA Asish Saha, viewed that the CPI (M) led ruling Left Front of Tripura has lost some 10 percent vote in the last TTAADC poll and fear that it may have its reflection in this assembly by-poll and with this apprehension had taken unfair means to win election.

Meantime, according to election department around 83 percent vote has been casted on an average in the two seats that had gone for polling today.
