Criticising the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government for spending large amount of money on information and publicity, the Congress on Thursday said that spending money on self- publicity is also a 'form of corruption'.

"They are spending money on their own party workers. Is it not a form of corruption by spending more money on publicity? This is something that is unfortunate. We will be protesting over this," said Congress leader Ajay Maken.

"What we have seen in the Delhi Government budget that there is a reduction in the infrastructure development and host of other measures which we were asking for. There is reduction in transport and environment. But surprisingly thy have spent 526 crores for just publicity and information whereas they had spent 24 crores for the same," he added.

According to reports, the Delhi Government has spent over 520 crores on government advertisements for information and publicity.

Recently, the government had launched an advertisement campaign on TV, claiming how they have improved governance in Delhi.
