Returning Australian Test fast bowling coach Craig McDermott said that he wants the team to 'nail the Poms' as much as they can by bowling the right lengths and getting the basics right, in the winter Ashes series.
McDermott, who was reappointed by Cricket Australia (CA), had received much praise for his work with the national team and was a significant loss to its support network when he resigned from the job in May last year.
According to News.com.au, McDermott claimed he would be taking the same approach of getting the ball swinging consistently with the team this time like his previous stint, adding that he wants to ensure that the team gets their attack performing across the board like it did 18 months ago in order to nail England in the Ashes.
Stating that there would be a lot of emphasis on getting the basics right, McDermott also said that he would be addressing issues like no balls during training, adding that he will be working hard to execute the fittest attack, being relentless and taking a lot of wickets.
Current bowling coach Ali de Winter, a former Tasmanian all-rounder, will remain one-day and Twenty20 bowling coach, the report added.
