The reviews of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie seem to have taken over the book as the Sam Taylor-Johnson's venture has garnered positive reviews from the critics.
Variety called it "a significant improvement" on EL James's novel, describing it as "Charlotte Bronte with a peacock feather", whereas, the Guardian, described it as a "better-than-it-has-to-be adaptation", the BBC reported.
Variety's Justin Chang said that the film was edgier than most grown-up studio fare, but otherwise a fairly mild provocation in this porn-saturated day and age.
The Hollywood Reporter's Sheri Linden agreed the film was "by definition, a stronger proposition than the book".
The film, which is an adaptation from EL James' novel of the same name, opens in UK cinemas on 13th February, 2015.
