'Fifty Shades of Grey' helmer Sam Taylor-Johnson has admitted that there was never going to be "explicit sex" in the movie.
Speaking to Stylist magazine, the Brit filmmaker asserted that she was on set most of the time reminding herself what a huge production this is thanks to the book's 100 million fans, the Daily Express reported.
The 47-year-old director said that there was never going to be explicit sex as lead actor Jamie Dornan is married and lead actress Dakota Johnson is in a relationship and they wanted an R rating i.e. under 17s must be accompanied by an adult.
Taylor added that she had to honour the book and she was there to make sure she did.
'Fifty Shades' charts the dramatic love story of virginal college student Anastasia Steele played by Dakota as she embarks on a submissive/dominant relationship with mysterious billionaire Christian Grey played by Dornan.
