A cultural programme to celebrate the works of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore was recently organized at the Mukta Manch auditorium of Agartala.
The programme was jointly organised by socio-cultural organizations such as Friends of Bangladesh, Tripura Sanskriti Samanya Kendra, Bharat Bangladesh Foundation and Information and Cultural Affairs department of the government of Tripura.
Various dancers and singers performed Tagore's composition and a documentary on Tagore's work titled 'Timeless Geetanjali'.
Narayan Deb, a visitor who attended the event, said that such cultural exchanges will promote understanding between India and Bangladesh.
"This type of programme gives us great hope in improving the relation between the two nations through cultural exchange. The Bangladeshi artists are coming here and our Indian artists are going there to perform and through this we come to know and understand each other better," Deb said.
