Indian athlete Mohammad Anas Yahiya missed a bronze medal at the Men's 400m Final but shattered the national record to finish fourth at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games on Tuesday.
Anas clocked 45.31 to break his own national record of 45.32 seconds recorded last year.
He fell just 0.2 seconds short of the bronze medal position of 45.11 seconds which was won by Javon Francis of Jamaica. Botswana's Isaac Makwala took gold while Baboloki Thebe won silver with a time of 44.35 and 45.09 respectively.
In the women's 400m semifinals, 18-year-old Hima Das qualified for the final with a personal best of 51.53 to finish third in the first semifinal heat.
Her semifinal timing of 51.53 shaved 0.44 seconds off her previous best of 51.97seconds set at the Federation Cup in March.
