'Selma' star David Oyelowo has defended his friend Benedict Cumberbatch for his "colored" remarks, saying that the controversy is ridiculous.
The 38-year-old actor asserted that when one looks at what Cumberbatch was actually saying then it's clear that he's a huge supporter of black performers, the BBC reported.
The Brit actor continued that to attack the 'Sherlock' star for a term, as opposed to what he was actually saying, it is very devious and is indicative of the age they live in where people are looking for sound bites as opposed to substance.
Cumberbatch had later apologised for his remarks saying that he felt like a complete fool.
