David Silva says Chelsea will be under pressure from Man City in PL title race

Spanish striker David Silva has backed Manchester City to put pressure on current Premier League leaders Chelsea after removing Jose Mourinho's men's lead over the past month, and has also warned the Londoners that they could slip up at Stoke City in Monday's encounter.

Silva scored twice in City's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, with Yaya Toure adding the third, to secure a sixth consecutive Premier League victory that drew them level with Chelsea on 39 points.

Mourinho's side currently leads only by a superior goal difference of one. However, if Stoke loses a three-point advantage can again be established with both teams having played 17 matches, The Guardian reported.

Silva said that he feels like it would be a tough game for Chelsea, adding that the City squad knows how difficult it is to play Stoke, at home and away, as they showed at the Etihad. City were beaten 1-0 at home by Mark Hughes' side in August.

Silva claimed that his side would focus on themselves and hope that Chelsea they drop some points. He added that they were eight points behind Chelsea a few weeks ago and now they have the same number of points, at least until they play on Monday, so he believes that maybe City could put a bit of pressure on Mourinho's men.
