Delhi Dynamos bolster attack with Marcelo Leite signing

Delhi Dynamos Football Club strengthened their attacking option by adding the Brazilian Marcelo Leite Pereira to the team's roster for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League.

The left winger who can also play on the right wing and as a striker is known for his creativity and lethal speed. He is Delhi Dynamos F.C.'s latest foreign signing and is a crucial addition to Gianluca Zambrotta's side, who has vowed to play attacking brand of football in the season.

The 29 year old joins the Delhi Dynamos F.C. squad from Anapolis Futebol Clube, which plays in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie D.

"I am thankful to the club for this new opportunity. It is a new challenge for me and I am looking forward to it. I have heard of ISL a lot and really wanted to come and play in India. I hope to have a great stint with the club and help the club in winning the title," Marcelo said.

Head coach Gianluca Zambrotta was pleased with the new signing and feels that he will be able to play the team a lot of option while going forward.

"He has played across different leagues in different countries and I am sure his experience will help the team a lot during the season" Zambrotta said.

Nicknamed as Marcelinho, he is a well-travelled player having played in Spain, Italy, Greece and Brazil. The winger who can double up as a striker has played for various clubs like Skoda Xanthi, Catania, Atromotis, Anapolis and Atletico Madrid B. He was also part of the Atromotis's UEFA Europa League squad and his best performance came against AIK Solna in 2015, in the preliminary round, where he scored a goal and assisted one to be named the man of the match.

"We are very happy to welcome him into the Delhi Dynamos F.C. family. He has played across the world and his versatility is something which will add depth to our squad. We believe he can be a crucial player for the success of the team," club's chief technical officer Vishnu Madhu said.
