The soaring demand for the pale blue polka dot dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge for her first appearance after giving birth to the royal baby, crashed the designer Jenny Packham's website.
Within hours of the debut, the designer's site stopped working after it was rumored that Kate Middleton had donned her empire-line crepe de chine design, News.com.au reported.
Many initial reports on Twitter claimed that the dress was from the Packham's spring/summer 2013 collection.
The claims led many frenzied shoppers to believe that the gown might be available to buy online.
Meanwhile, a rep of the British designer confirmed that the dress was a one-off creation for the new mum's long-awaited appearance on the steps of the Lindo Wing.
