Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's brother, Narendra Singh Dhoni, on Sunday joined the Samajwadi Party (SP) and pledged to work for both Jharkhand and the country.
"I will think about the whole country, and not just about Jharkhand only. A poor person faces problems in two things. One is his kid's education, and the other is hospital bills. I think these two are necessities that should be provided free of cost. The government takes several taxes, but, I think, the money should be used in providing education and healthcare," said Narendra Singh Dhoni after formally joining the SP
On being asked whether he had any consultations with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he said, "I did not talk to him about this, as he is in South Africa. This is my personal decision, plus I am 10 years older than him. I don't think we have to consult each other before taking any decision."
About his past association with the Bharatiya Janata Party, he said, "I stayed with the BJP too, but I couldn't understand their policies. That's why I left them.
