Twitter was reportedly amid a flurry of excitement after an account named 'FIFA Corruption' seemingly predicted the deciding moment of the World Cup finale between Germany and Argentina hours ahead of time.

Germany defeated Argentina by a goal with midfielder Mario Goetze scoring the game's only goal in the 113th minute to guide his side to victory.

According to News.com.au, the Twitter account in question gained thousands of followers since Goetze's goal because it had posted a number of tweets, 14 hours before the final started, that seemed to have predicted the correct outcome.

FIFA Corruption had posted that the scoreline would be that Germany would win 1-0 against Argentina and that they would win at extra time.

The Twitter account had also posted that Goetze would score the goal and the goal would come in the second half of the extra time, the report added.

Germany won on goal difference with Goetze having scored the goal in the second half of the extra time, the report added.
