Dimple Kapadia has finally broken her silence over her 'Finding Fanny' co-star Naseeruddin Shah's degrading remark about her late husband Rajesh Khanna's acting skills.
According to a DNA report, the 59-year-old actress chose to reply in a terse manner, saying, "I just want to say that while I understand that everyone has the right to their own opinion, the man's career and legacy speak for him. I don't need to over-emphasise his accomplishments or what he has done for Hindi cinema. You know them, I know them, millions of his fans know them as well."
Earlier, in an interview with Hindustan Times, 'A Wednesday' actor called Khanna's acting 'poor' and blamed him for bringing "mediocrity" to Indian cinemas in 70's.
"I just want to say that while I understand that everyone has the right to their own opinion, the man's career and legacy speak for him. I don't need to over-emphasise his accomplishments or what he has done for Hindi cinema. You know them, I know them, millions of his fans know them as well," said the 67-year-old actor.
Naseeruddin later apologised after Twinkle Khanna slammed him on social media for disrespecting her father, "Sir, if you can't respect the living, respect the dead. Mediocrity is attacking a man who can't respond," tweeted, the former Bollywood actress.
In a reply to it, he posted, "I apologise to those who were personally offended. My intention was not to attack him but to talk about how a certain phase in history affected the course of Hindi cinema.
