Djokovic reveals had installed Becker as head coach to improve current success

Defending Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic has revealed that he decided it was the right moment to change a successful and enduring relationship he shared with coach Marian Vajda, and install Boris Becker as he feels he is in 'a great place in his career and life at the moment'.

Not only the Serb has lost a match since his September engagement to long-time love Jelena Ristic but also he finished with 24 consecutive wins and four titles last season.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, despite his success, Djokovic decided to install Becker as the new head of his team as according to him, he is in the peak of his form and abilities, for which he is trying to perfect or improve his skills and abilities as much as he can.

Stating that it is one of the reasons that he installed Becker as his new head coach, Djokovic also said that he believes that Becker can help him in his bid to be better and win more Grand Slams as he himself won many Grand Slams and was No.1 in the world.

Djokovic further said that Becker knows exactly what particular mental challenges and obstacles he (Djokovic) is facing at the moment, and as such, can help him in that particular area.

Djokovic also said that the appointment did not have anything to do with the success Andy Murray has had since teaming with another former great, Ivan Lendl, two years ago, but was something he had plotted with Vajda.
