Former Pakistan Test skipper Rashid Latif believes that the inclusion of pace bowler Sohail Khan in their 15-man squad for the World Cup is one of the rarest developments in his country's cricketing history, saying that he has gate-crashed into the squad.

Latif said that Sohail's coming into the picture overnight was one of the rarest developments in Pakistan cricket history, adding that he was not even in the preliminary squad but the selectors might have realized just at the right time that he would be useful in the mega event, the Dawn reported.

He further said that Sohail's performance in domestic cricket strongly supports his selection in the national team and hopefully he along with other players would deliver in Australia and England.

According to Rashid, New Zealand and South Africa are favorites to clinch the coveted title.
