Russia on Friday ordered the expulsion of four German diplomats in retaliation over the poisoning of its former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter at Salisbury.
As per the media reports, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said, "The news from Moscow comes as no surprise".
Maas further assured that Germany was still ready for a dialogue with Russia and wanted to continue working for "a constructive future of relations" between the two countries.
Germany, this week, expelled four Russian diplomats over Moscow's suspected involvement in the poisoning of former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal in England.
Retired military intelligence officer Skripal, 66, and his daughter, Yulia, 33, were found slumped on a bench in Salisbury city centre on March 4.
While Yulia is said to be out of danger, Skripal continues to be in a critical condition.
