The farmer, who had briefed Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi during his visit to Sirhind, Punjab, on the plight of the farming community, committed suicide in Fatehgarh Sahib district's Dadu Majra village today.

60-year-old Singh had briefed Gandhi on the plight of the farmers and distress caused to them by crop loss due to unseasonal rains.
