The father of Islamic State (IS) militant Mohammed Emwazi, popularly known as Jihadi John, has said that "my son is a dog, he is an animal, a terrorist" after he was unmasked last week.
According to the Daily Express, Jaseem Emwazi told how he was "ashamed" at the news of his son being an IS executioner.
In an emotional phone call to a colleague to explain his absence, the 51-year-old is reported to have broken down in tears and said "to hell with my son."
He said he had talked to him a lot trying to persuade him to return to his personal life but he did not listen to him.
Jihadi John is believed to have killed many western journalists like Peter Kassig, Alan Henning, David Haines and Japanese hostages Haruna Yukawa and Kenji Goto.
