After releasing a pair of photos early this year and getting the ball rolling on promotion well ahead of its 2017 premiere, the 'Smurfs

'Smurf's official Twitter handle released the poster and wrote, "Check out the official teaser poster for SMURFS: THE LOST VILLAGE and come back tomorrow to watch the teaser trailer! #SmurfsMovie"

Demi Lovato, who has lent her voice for Smurfette too took to her Twitter handle to share the poster and wrote alongside, "Smurfs: The Lost Village official poster is here!! Stick around for the teaser trailer tomorrow! #SmurfsMovie."

The plot of 'Smurfs: The Lost Village' revolves around Smurfette and her search for a legendary Smurf village, with her brothers Hefty, Clumsy and Brainy.

As hinter on the poster, this new movie takes the Smurfs, and the audience, on a journey into a forbidden forest, a fantastical world like no other, filled with crazy plants, insects and animals.

The animated flick, along with Lovato, has voices of Rainn Wilson as the evil Gargamel, Mandy Patinkin as Papa Smurf, Joe Manganiello as Hefty, Jack McBrayer as Clumsy and Danny Pudi as Brainy.

The film, directed by Kelly Asbury, will mark a brand new, fully-animated take on the beloved blue creatures.

Speaking about how different this movie will be from the previous two installments, Asbury said in the 'Smurf's blogpost, "Sony Pictures Animation's previous two SMURFS movies were live action films in which real humans interacted with more realistically designed and animated Smurfs, and the stories centered as much around the human characters' issues. SMURFS: THE LOST VILLAGE has nothing to do with those other films. It is a radically different take on the Smurfs and their imaginary world, fully computer animated, and much closer to the tone and style that creator Peyo initially envisioned."

This fully-animated feature will open in cinemas on April 7, 2017.
